William (Bill) Frank Wheeler, 77, of Hillsdale, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Simcoe Hospice on February 3, 2026. Born in Montreal, Quebec, on April 11, 1948, he was the beloved son of Frank and Lillian Wheeler. Bill received a Bachelor of Agriculture at Guelph University. Bill was driven, owning his own businesses and working different jobs. While working at New Leaf Living and Learning Together Inc., Bill found his passion working with the developmentally handicapped, where he worked for over 35 years changing people's lives. When Bill was not helping friends or working, he always got involved in the community, being a dedicated Freemason where Bill reached the rank of Very Worshipful. If that wasn't enough, he was an active Shrine club member in Midland, a Scottish Rite member in Barrie, and sat on the board of directors for the Elmvale food bank. Another passion of Bill's was his green thumb. The gardens, yard, and ponds were legendary. He always put his heart and soul into everything he did. He was survived by his loving wife, Sharlotte of 56 years, was a proud and loving father to son Michael (Lisa), late daughter Stephanie (Peter), grandchildren Sarah, Rachel, Blake, great-grandson Kaedin, and sister Betty (Richard). The funeral will be held at Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale, Ont., Thursday, February 12, 2026, between 2-5 p.m. The service will commence at 2:45 and a reception to follow.
The family would also like to send out a special thanks to all the healthcare professionals and services in Bill's time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to Simcoe Hospice or Coronation Masonic Lodge in Elmvale.
