Dave, who celebrated his 82nd birthday on February 16, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in Panama.

Born in Penetanguishene, Ontario, on February 16, 1944, Dave was the beloved son of Bill and Jean Campbell. He lived a full and meaningful life, defined by his dedication to family, strong work ethic, and deep connection to his community.

Dave is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Margie; his daughter, Jen; his son, Tim (Soupy), and Tim’s wife, Lisa; and his cherished granddaughters, Tili and Violet, who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Barb, and will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends from Elmvale and the many places he and Margie enjoyed traveling together.

He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Jean; his brother, Billy; his sister, Judy; and his brother-in-law, Ed.

Dave will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, and father-in-law—but his favourite title was “Papa.” He was well known as the heart behind the local hardware store in Elmvale, where he and Margie carried on the proud tradition of Campbell’s as a third-generation family business. More than a store, it was a gathering place, where creaky wood floors echoed years of laughter, conversation, and true community spirit.

He also took great pride in his athletic accomplishments, particularly his years playing baseball, hockey, and curling, and his induction into the Springwater Hall of Fame.

A celebration of Dave’s life will be held at a later date.

Dave will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
