It is with great sadness that we share that  Marie Bunn  passed away on Saturday February 7, 2026 in her 92nd year at Sara Vista Long Term Care Home in Elmvale Ontario.
 Marie will join her husbands Joseph Guilfoyle (predeceased 1991) and Beverly Bunn (predeceased 2021).

She was the beloved mother of Sharon Damery (Roland), Stephen Guilfoyle(Judith),Catherine Bartlett (Gord), Michael Guilfoyle (Ann) and Lisa Critchley (Todd).
Ever loving Grandmother of Erin(David), Jess (Tim), Charles, James, Mitchell and Justine (Jeff), Chris , Bryan and Andrew.  She was great grandmother to Marshall, Harley, Matthew, Rhea-Mai, Livia, Malachi, Eleanor , Lorelei and Wrenley.

She was married to Beverly for 26 years and shared life with his children Darren (Arlene), Cory and Darcy and grandchildren Jessie and Cassidy.

She is survived by her sister June Melson (Douglas predeceased) and sister in law Helen King (Bernard predeceased) and by numerous nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

 Marie was a long time employee of Bell Canada in Barrie.  Prior to retirement she moved to Phelpston and then to Elmvale where she was deeply committed to these communities. She was a long time volunteer to many local organizations and groups giving countless hours, knitting many beautiful items and baking goodies  to support various charitable endeavours. She truly enjoyed being of service to her community and church. She was a 60 year plus member of the Catholic. Women’s league, an accomplishment that she was proud of. Her church and her faith brought her great comfort throughout her life.

Marie was a very sociable woman who loved spending time with family and friends, hosting dinner parties, card games and get togethers.

Family was very important to Marie and she was always interested in what was going on in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

Her family would like to thank all of her neighbours from 19A Yonge St. In Elmvale for always checking in with her. Your kindness and consideration is truly appreciated by her family. Marie resided at Sara Vista LTC in Elmvale prior to her passing. Marie was a volunteer at this facility for a number of years providing friendship and comfort to the residents. While living  there she was treated with compassion, kindness and understanding. We are grateful for the care and the love she received.

A visitation will be held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale from 7-9 pm on Thursday, February 12, 2026.  Funeral Mass on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Elmvale. Reception to follow.

Spring interment St. Patrick's Cemetery Phelpston.
