Passed away peacefully at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital in Collingwood with his wife by his side on Thursday, October 1, 2026.  Doug Hounsome of Wasaga Beach, born in Orillia on September 11, 1946.  Beloved husband of Nancy Hounsome.  Father of Scott (Michelle) and Bradley (Nayely).  Grandfather of Scott and James.  Predeceased by parents, Alberta and William Hounsome, and brother Charles (Ruth), and sister Joyce (Arthur) Buchanan.  He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Sherry (Andy), Jorden (Emily), Jasmine (Tim), Ian, Daisy (Adam), Nancy (Andrew) Greg (Lorie), Jenny (Dave), and Tracy (William)  and many other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  Brother-in-law of Carol (late Justin) Collins and Barbara (late Ron) Van Norman.

Doug worked at Teneco Automotive in Cambridge for 44 years.  He was the president of the Galt Curling Club and a member of the Elmvale Curling Club.  Doug volunteered for years at the Hospice in Kitchener and then later at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. 

A private family memorial service will be held.
