Theresa “Angela” Lorraine Marley
March 4,1952 – April 2,2026
It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of an amazing woman whose life work was dedicated to helping people with disabilities. Angela Marley in her 74th year, initially from Phelpston, passed away peacefully at Baycrest Hospital in Toronto on April 2nd, 2026 after a short illness and due to complications with MS. Her sister Margaret Thomas and her niece Sheila Thomas were at her side.
Born at RVH in Barrie on March 4, 1952, to Frank and Bertille (Hall) Marley (both predeceased) of Phelpston Ontario. Angela is survived and will be missed by siblings Joseph (late Deloris), Margaret Thomas (late David), James (late Colleen), and Phil Marley. Angela is predeceased by her siblings Edward, Mary Ellen, Bernadette (Bunny) Snider (late Ken), Michael (late Goldie), Bill, Leo, Patrick (Heather), Peter (Liz) and Paul (Cathy). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by friends, associates, and colleagues from the University of Guelph, Rehabilition Worker CNIB Winnipeg 1976 – 1981, retired Social Worker, (STEP UNIT), Whitby Mental Health Centre 1983 - 2006, was a volunteer at the North York Seniors’ Centre and a Member of The Transit Commission Advisory Committee on Accessible Transit (ACAT). Angela worked on many projects with (ACAT) where her legacy lives on helping people with disabilities by having detailed station descriptions and announcing the stop as you enter and leave the vehicles.
Angela enjoyed gardening, canoeing, photography, genealogy and bridge. She enjoyed compiling all the family photo books and documenting all the family history.
The family would like to thank Toronto Western Hospital, and Baycrest Hospital, particularly all staff and doctors for all her care this last year and palliative care. She was always appreciative of those who cared for her and cannot thank you enough.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, The North York Seniors’ Centre, Baycrest Hospital, St Patrick's Church Cemetery Fund in Phelpston, St Edward’s Church in Toronto or Charity of your choice.
Visitation will be at Lynn-Stone Funeral Home at 9am,(15 Yonge St S, Elmvale On L0L 1P0) on Saturday May 30, 2026. A Funeral mass will follow at 11am at St. Patrick's Church, Phelpston (1600 Flos Rd 4 W, L0L2K0), interment at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Phelpston. Friends and family are invited to a reception immediately following the burial at Our Lady of Lourdes (106 Yonge St N, Elmvale, ON L0L 1P0)
