OGDEN, KAROLE DAWN (nee HUNTER)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Karole Ogden (nee Hunter), peacefully and surrounded by family on January 19, 2023. Supportive and caring wife to Lorne, proud Mother of Holly (Chris), Drew (Joleen), and Kory (Tara), and loving Grandma to Willa, Rilynn, Paige, and Harrison. Lovingly remembered by her parents Eleanor and Jack (Gretha) Hunter, siblings Kim (Alain), Janet (Ross), Travis (Reni), and Ian (Anna).

An avid sewist, traveller, and bargain-shopper, she was the life of so many of our parties.  Karole was happiest when supporting others, and always had a card, thoughtful gift, or time for a phone call for someone on her mind. Always on the go, she was determined to live each day to the fullest. She had high expectations of those she held close and never backed down from a challenge. When Karole was told she couldn’t do something she, without fail, decided that she would. This courage and boldness took her on many adventures around the world, kept her eager to try new things, and kept those closest to her on their toes!

A fighter from the beginning, she battled health challenges from very early in her life, and she spent her entire life defying the odds.  She continued to defy the odds until the very end, and her determined spirit will live on in those who loved her.

When the time is right, we encourage you to pour a glass of wine in remembrance of Karole, and to toast her as she heads off on her next great adventure.

Visitations will be held from 1-3pm and 6-8pm with eulogies at 6pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale.

Memorial Donations to Hospice Huronia, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or any charity of your choice may be made in Karole’s honour.
