BENNIE, IAN ALLAISTER

Bennie, Ian Allaister, 76, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 28, 2024.Ian, a former member of the Royal Canadian Navy, and retired from Bell Canada, was a resident of Elmvale for 38 years. He enjoyed his morning coffee and banter with the locals, and was often found sitting on his front porch offering up a friendly wave to all those who passed by his house on Stone Street. He is predeceased by his parents Catherine Bennie (Rodger) and John Stanley Bennie, sister Heather Bennie-Hyrnevich, and his best friend and golf partner David Lambie.Ian will be greatly missed by his brother Roger Bennie, daughters Jessica (Ben) Irwin and Laura (Shawn) Brabant.He was a very proud YaYa to Austin, Spencer and Ryker. He often attended their wrestling tournaments and hockey games, and could always be found sitting under a tree cheering them on at their football games.

As per Ian’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.

A celebration of life and a round of golf in his memory will be had at a later date.
