Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at RVH in Barrie on Saturday, January 27th, 2024.  “Murr” in his 74th year, was a lifelong Boston Bruins fan who was proud to be born and raised on the 3rd line of Oro-Medonte.
Murray was the beloved husband of Jane Lees (nee Bertram) and dear father of Greg (Tina) and Jeff (Katelyn).  He was an extremely proud and loving grandpa/grampi of Isla, Callum, Emmett, and Emerson and will be dearly missed by his father-in-law Don Bertram.  Murray is pre-deceased by his parents Keith and Orma Lees and mothers-in-law Mary Bertram and Thelma Bertram-Harvey.  He was a beloved brother of Wanda (Richard) Anderson, the late Lynda (Russ) Ritchie, Allan (Victoria) Lees, and Faye (Clark) Sheardown; brother-in-law of Judy (Wayne) Paxton and Joan (Larry) Klein Gebbinck.  Murray will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.  Murray’s friends and relatives from all over always looked forward to visits and conversations about camping, hockey, baseball, or golf.  His absence will be deeply felt by his numerous golf and curling buddies during post-game social gatherings.

A visitation will be held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, February 2nd, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, February 3rd at the St. John's United Church, Elmvale, followed by interment at the Elmvale Cemetery.

The funeral service will be live streamed on the St. John's website.

In memory of Murray, donations can be made to St. John’s United Church, Elmvale Curling Club, or the Elmvale Food Bank, reflecting his deep passion for his community.
