Gentle, Doreen Marie (“Deen”), nee Sye, passed away peacefully at Watford Quality Care, Watford, Ontario on Friday, September 22, 2023 in her 97th year. Deen Gentle, formerly of her beloved Orr Lake, early years in Mount Dennis and winters in Florida, was predeceased by Ronald Gentle (2014), and was the cherished mother of Craig (Carolyn) of Thornhill and Rhonda (Herman) Leystra of Camlachie. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Sarah, Scott (Brooke), Christopher (Robyn), Amy (Corey), and Jonathan (Pam), as well as 16 great- grandchildren. Dear sister of Terry (Joan) and Jack (Doreen), all predeceased.
Friends and family will celebrate Deen’s life on Sunday, October 1st at 11am in the chapel of the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale, Ontario.
Interment will follow on Monday, October 2nd at 10am in the Elmvale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
