It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved Norma Brown on May 5th, 2021 at the age of 65 while surrounded by her family.

Born in Midland, Ontario, Norma grew up on her family farm in Vasey. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Roberta Edwards (nee Stewart). She is survived by her lifelong partner, husband, and best friend Douglas Brown. Children Jessica Caston (Douglas Caston), Kathryn Kosakowski (Mariusz Kosakowski) and her cherished grandchildren: Mason, Grace and Alina.

Loving sister of Lyle (Phyllis) Edwards, Blayne (Sandy) Edwards, Carolyn (Don) Woodrow, Sheila (late Peter) Dunn. Dear sister in law of Ronald (Betty), Wanda (Craig). She will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her father and mother in law, Morley and Donna Brown.

If you had the pleasure of knowing her, your life was blessed.  Norma was a beautiful soul. For many she was a treasured friend, for her family she was a beloved wife and partner of 41 years, the world's best mother, sister, aunt and the greatest title of all, Nana. Norma and Doug created many special memories raising their adored children, sharing many adventures with their family and friends. Spending many happy summers on Lake Rosseau and Kawigamog Lake, taking family vacations in Florida, Cuba and several southern destinations.

Norma came from a large, very close family. She was an anchor for her family and friends, a person that would welcome you with open arms. She was selfless soul, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a smile and energy that would light up any room. She was not only a mother to her own children, but a mother figure to so many of her children's friends. Her nurturing spirit made you feel love whether by giving the greatest hug or her filling your belly with delicious treats. Known as a world class baker by all who knew her, butter tarts, pies and cakes were in high demand. Norma’s greatest joy came from time with her family and providing for them. Norma will live on in our hearts and memories. Never forgotten, always loved.

Internment at Vasey Cemetery followed by a celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Memorial donations me be made to the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation or the Elmvale Food Bank in Norma`s memory.
