MCFADDEN, LARRY PHILLIP

It is with deep sadness that we announce Larry Phillip McFadden of Elmvale passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 at Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary surrounded by his loving children in his 75th year. 

He is survived by his two children, Michael of Penetanguishene and Michelle (Rob) of Midland.  Proud grandfather of Abigail, Isabelle and Chase. 

Cherished brother of Lynda (Elmer) Nadrofsky, Garry (Nellie) McFadden and Ron (Donna) McFadden. He was predeceased by his parents Murray and Betty McFadden. Remembered fondly by Chris Smith and Katherine Bumstead.  A loving father, proud grandfather and loyal friend, Larry lived a life defined on his own terms with strength, humor, compassion and resilience.  He was a man who found purpose in helping others, especially his deep commitment to sobriety and his decades long involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous.  Larry was a true advocate for recovery, offering hope, support and mentorship to countless individuals walking the path he had once walked himself.  His journey and dedication were a source of strength and inspiration to many. If you didn’t catch him at one of his beloved Sunday meetings you probably found him at a local sales barn talking others ears off about cattle prices.

Larry will be missed dearly by his family, many friends in the Elmvale community as well those who got to know him in the Crossfield, Alberta area over the last 13 years. 

Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life is planned for Sunday September 7, 2025 at the Elmvale Lions Club on Flos Rd 7 West from 2-5pm.
