QUIRT, LYNDA JEAN (nee RITCHIE)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Lynda Jean Quirt {nee Ritchie) on March 14 2023 in her 7 4 year. Lynda was the: - loving and supportive wife of Peter John Quirt for 32 years. - Eldest daughter of the late Ross ( 1990) & Madeline (2008) Ritchie - Cherished sister of Donna {Jim) Woods & Jim (Lorrie) Ritchie - Doting aunt to Brian (Amanda) & Chris Maclean; Adam (Valerie) Ritchie, Sara (Jamie) Hamelin & Ian (Annalee) Ritchie - Daughter-in - law to the late Dorothy & Allan Quirt - Sister - in - law to the late Diane (2021) & Mccaul (1993) Quirt Lynda will also be fondly remembered eeby great nieces and nephews: - Kristen (Charlie) Stokes & Tyson - Jack Ritchie & Olivia Cordner - Madeline, Grace & Charlie Hamelin - Thomas & Britta Ritchie Lynda was a quiet, reserved person. Having been raised in the small community of Elmvale (population at the time was under 200), she spread her wings when she furthered her education in the study of art & design in a 3 year program at Georgian College. After graduation she moved to Toronto but managed to bring the Grey Coach bus home almost every weekend to sit around the pool and read. Securing employment with Sunworthy Wallpaper, she worked her way up the ranks during her career to become head of their Birge line of wallpaper, retiring in the early 2000's after 30 years Lynda had a special flare with everything she touched - a gift with added perfection. If it could be made on a sewing machine, she made it - from all sorts of clothing including tailored coats to draperies and other interior design items, She was always up with the latest Paris and New York designs. Although Lynda loved children, she had none of her own. Her family included her husband, John, and their many cats but she doted on her niece & nephews every chance she got. As the family photographer, she took every opportunity to permanently secure their images as they grew up.

A graveside service at Elmvale Cemetery will be held at a later date.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Elmvale Food Bank in Lynda's memory.
